About Us

Trauma-Informed Care

We understand that many of our clients have experienced trauma, which can impact their mental health and well-being. That's why at CDL & Associates, we provide trauma- informed care to help clients feel safe and supported during their therapy sessions. Our therapists have specialized training in trauma-focused therapies, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Somatic Experiencing.

Meet Our Team

Cynthia Lee

Cynthia Lee, M.A., C. Psych.

Clinical Director and Psychologist

Cynthia is a registered Psychologist, with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, and licensed to provide psychological services, including assessment and intervention to adults. Her areas of competency are in clinical and forensic psychology. She has practical experience working in various clinical environments, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency departments of community hospitals, chronic pain rehabilitation clinics, federal correctional institutions, and a military hospital. With a passion for understanding the whole person and their life experiences, she references and incorporates psychodynamic theory into both her assessments and treatment interventions. She is trained in Adlerian Theory and tends to use a transtheoretical approach to treatment, including the use of other evidence-based interventions.

Elizabeth Richardson

Elizabeth Richardson, RN, CPMHN (C)

Registered Nurse and Psychotherapist

Elizabeth is a Registered Nurse and practicing Psychotherapist, holding a Canadian Psychiatrist Mental Health Nursing Certificate CPMHN (C). She has over 20 years of clinical practice working in the field of mental health. She enjoys working with a diverse clientele and has training and experience in therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Chronic Pain Management and Grief Counselling. She is currently involved in becoming certified in Brain Spotting

Her approach is holistic, where she considers all aspects of an individual’s health, mind, body, and spirit. She incorporates the practice of mindfulness into a trauma-informed client-centered approach. She believes in the inherent dignity and strength of the human person and draws on these qualities to aid in managing challenges and transitions, and to find new balance and purpose in her clients’ lives.

Michele Vindum

Michele Vindum, MSW, RSW

Social Worker and Psychotherapist

Michele is a Registered Social Worker, with a Master of Social Work specializing in trauma and gender-based violence. She has over seven years of experience in trauma-informed care alongside multidisciplinary health teams. She has extensive knowledge and skills using trauma-informed psychotherapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Polyvagal & Somatic Therapies and Mindfulness. Her experience includes working with Trauma Disorders, Mood and Anxiety Disorders, and Somatic Disorders.

She is passionate about advocating and supporting her clientele while offering care through a collaborative and strength-based lens. She incorporates the latest understanding of brain function, using both bottom-up (older brain) and top-down (higher brain) techniques. She believes that you are the expert on your own experience, and she will work alongside you at your pace to help you reach your goals.

Hana Varzandeh, MSW, RSW

Social Worker and Psychotherapist
Telehealth Services

Hana is a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has over 18 years of experience in the field of mental health services, including working in acute care in the hospital emergency departments, outpatient mental health services departments and child protection services. She provides therapeutic care and treatment through a humanistic, culturally sensitive lens inspired by an existential perspective and Eastern teachings. She enjoys connecting with clients through her strong empathetic nature while they move through their journey of discovery. Hana’s communications skills are enhanced by her fluency in three languages, including English, Kurdish and Farsi.

Erin McNeil

Erin McNeil, B.Comm.

Clinic Manager

Erin holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UOIT. She has extensive experience in the commercial banking and finance industry. She manages our offices and maintains all of our client accounts. Should you have any questions or concerns related to billing, please feel free to reach out to Erin. She is always happy to hear from you. In her “spare time”, she is the mother of two young children and they sometimes require her time, as well.

McNeil

Adam McNeil, BSc. Design and Animation

Public Relations/Social Media Manager

Adam holds a Bachelor of Science in Design and Animation. His creative expertise and design skills help to maintain our website, as well as provide new and encouraging healthy insights to improve mental and physical health. He is the point of contact for all new referrals and general inquiries about our services. Outside of our corporation, he is employed as a game designer and animator.
